Larry Rice, a honored mandolin player, began his bluegrass procedure by playing in his father's cord, the Golden State Boys. He later formed his acknowledge band (the Haphazards) with brothers Tony and Ronnie. In the '70s, he co-founded the New South, with J.D. Crowe, Doyle Lawson, Red Allen and Bobby Slone. After leaving the junto in 1976 (Ricky Skaggs replaced him), Rice toured by Dickey Betts....
