I am just discovering jazz music and this amazing 10 cd set is a very economical way to explore a wonderful artist. There are performances with Billie Holiday, large group/big band, and small group sets included. All the cds have notes about set dates and personnel and the disks are enclosed in plastic cases. There is also an interesting bio booklet. I am not an expert on jazz so I can't say if this collection is a representative sample of Lester Young's career, but there is a lot of variety here and I have loved listening to this wonderful music. At the price of 1 or 2 cds at regular price, I don't think you could go wrong buying this set.
